Hello Everyone!
We are here in Zomba – all 8 of us! It is good to be together again and hear how God has blessed both parts of our team! The team in Blantyre (Gregg, Jeremy, Christina and Reannah) had an amazing time working with the Malawian teachers. We exchanged ideas and learned about their Why Wait? Curriculum (an AIDS prevention/life skills program) and shared teaching strategies they could integrate into their program. The teachers in the workshop were ‘the best of the best’! We even had Headmasters and Headmistresses of schools in attendance! We made many new friends there, making it difficult to leave, but we were also excited to meet up with the other half of our team.
Our time together in now in Zomba so far has consisted primarily of revisiting a village of Go-Go Grandmothers, a preschool in a local village and visiting some of the local sites. Visiting the villages in particular reminds us of how necessary it is for us to be here and how great the need is. It makes us very thankful for what God has provided for us at home. As we come to our final week here, we look forward to following up with some of the teachers we have trained and discussing ways we can continue to help Malawi when we return home. For now, we are thankful that so far, God has kept the team safe and healthy. We appreciate all the comments and the continued thoughts and prayers and look forward to seeing all our friends and family next week!
God Bless!
